Disputes: come out ahead
Respond fast, pick a fair resolution, let the process work.
3 min readA buyer can open a dispute up to 14 days after delivery or pickup, or up to 30 days after payment if the order never arrives (item not received, not as described, damaged, and similar). Disputes are not a punishment; they are a structured conversation with deadlines. Here is how to win them.
1Respond within 3 business days. Missing the deadline lets the buyer escalate straight to MarkitMix and puts a strike on your seller record. Even "looking into it, reply tomorrow" beats silence.
2Pick your resolution. Full refund (optionally requiring the item back first), partial refund (the buyer gets 3 business days to accept), replacement (pickup orders), or decline with your side of the story.
3Returns are built in. Want the item back first? A return label is generated inside the dispute. When the return is delivered you have 2 business days to inspect and confirm, then the refund releases.
4Escalation. If you two cannot agree, MarkitMix reviews everything and makes the final call, typically within 7 to 10 business days.
Pro tip: The best dispute is the one that never opens: honest photos, honest condition notes, sturdy packing, and shipping on time prevent nearly all of them.
